Rencontres du Vietnam / Searching for extremely rare B decays at LHCb

One of the cleanest signatures of new physics is the observation of forbidden or extremely rare processes at the LHC. Candidate models for existing anomalies will have an impact on so-called Lepton Flavour Violating decays, while very rare B-meson decays can be significantly enhanced by generic (pseudo)-scalar or vector fields, providing an ideal laboratory to study new physics. In this talk we will make the connection between very rare decays and existing anomalies, highlight why the LHCb experiment is an ideal detector for such searches, and discuss the latest results by LHCb.
