Abstract |
In 2019, the LHCb collaboration published the first observation of CP violation in charmed particles, using the decay channels $D^0 \to pi^+pi^-$ and $D^0 \to K^+K-$. Further measurements are essential to understand whether the observed effect can be explained by the Standard Model, or if new sources of CP violation are needed. Here, we present the latest searches for direct CP violation in decays of charm hadrons, and discuss prospects for future measurements at LHCb in Run 3 and beyond.
