Rare decays are very sensitive probes for phenomena beyond the Standard Model, complementary to direct searches.
Particularly interesting are b->sll and c->ull transitions, which allow tests of lepton universality to be performed.
Very rare decays such as B(s)->ll are furthermore helicity suppressed and constitute powerful probes for new (pseudo) scalar particles.
Recent results of rare c and b-hadron decays at LHCb will be presented.
